Therapeutic Yoga

Therapeutic Yoga adapts the practice of yoga to the needs of individuals with specific or persistent health problems that are not usually addressed in a group class. It uses yogic techniques including posture, breath work, meditation, and pose variations to help individuals recovering from or living with illness or injury. Sessions are modified sequences designed to fit each client.

Our certified yoga therapist can assist a yoga or non-yoga practitioner in using yoga techniques and positions to help alleviate the symptoms of metabolic and autoimmune disorders, heart and other chronic diseases.

Susan Black has practiced yoga for 40 years. She is now a teacher and is experienced in many forms of yoga. She is certified in Yoga Therapy by the Therapy, Reiki, and Yoga School in Cleveland, OH. She owns her own studio, the Art of Yoga, and has taught yoga at numerous sites.

To schedule a Therapeutic Yoga appointment, Monday-Friday (for a fee of $40), or for more information, contact Marie Heberlein at 459-4132 or via email at mheberlein@lifeworkserie.org.
